Standard bolt sizes typically follow international or national standards, such as ISO (International Organization for Standardization), DIN (German Industrial Standard), ANSI (American National Standard), or GB (Chinese National Standard). Common bolt sizes include diameter (e.g., M6, M8, M10) and length (e.g., 20mm, 30mm, 50mm), with the specific size selected based on the application and load requirements. For example, an M8 bolt has a thread diameter of 8mm and can range in length from 10mm to 100mm. Bolt size selection also requires consideration of thread type (coarse or fine), pitch, and head shape (hexagonal head, round head, etc.). In specific industries such as photovoltaics, bolts must also meet requirements for corrosion resistance and high strength, such as hot-dip galvanizing or higher performance grades (e.g., grade 8.8).
